Dear Mary:

I apologize for the delay in expressing my appreciation for the "Bleeding Heart" print you gave me prior to my trip to New York City. As you are aware, during the emotionally charged visit, I gave the print as a gift to the City's Fire Commissioner who, in turn, arranged for it to be publicly displayed in the Hall of Fame at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

The print served as a timely and appropriate gesture given the devastating loss incurred by New York City and its firefighters. You should be proud that it occupies a place of great honor and where it can be solemnly viewed by firefighters from throughout the country.

Thank you for your kindness in allowing me to share our support through your art.

Sincerely,

TUALATIN VALLEY FIRE AND RESCUE

Jeffrey D. Johnson
Fire Chief
